Grand Junction Symphony Foundation

his Foundation is the successor to the former Grand Junction Musical Arts Association Trust, established in 1994. The Foundation’s assets include contributions of cash or property to the former Trust, current contributions to the Foundation, and all earnings from these assets. As established, the Foundation may receive cash contributions and donations of property from any corporation, individual, or organization and will hold these principal assets for the long-term benefit of the Symphony.

The purpose of this Foundation is to provide current and future income to the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra. This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Foundation gifts are self-perpetuating because the principal remains in the Foundation, while only the income from investments is used to support the Symphony orchestra. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated and will assure that future generations of our community can continue to enjoy orchestral music and educational programs.

Giving to the Foundation should be considered as additional to your regular giving to the Symphony operating budget. The long-term survival of the Grand Junction Symphony is dependent on the many people who have remembered the Symphony in their estate planning. When the Foundation is named a beneficiary of your will or trust, an investment is made in our musical community. In addition to systematic or planned giving, you may contribute by making a gift in someone’s memory or honor, or to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary. Even a small amount, given regularly over time, will create a legacy. The Foundation can accept gifts of appreciated securities, life insurance policies, residential or other real estate that may provide additional tax advantages. Contributions are subject to acceptance by the Board of Directors of the Grand Junction Symphony Foundation, Inc.

In past years, the Foundation has:

  • Sponsored concerts
  • Purchased new musical instruments
  • Given a percentage of its earnings to the operating budget
